Advice for the Public

CDC.gov/coronavirus

  • STAY HOME IF YOU FEEL UNWELL. If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek immediate medical attention and call in advance.
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (or use a hand sanitizer) especially after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing, or having been in a public place.
  • Maintain at least 3-6 feet of distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze.
  • Avoid all non-essential travel including plane trips, and especially avoid embarking on cruise ships. Be aware of those areas in the US where COVID-19 is more prevalent and creates higher risk for exposure.

We cannot over-emphasize the need for each of us to take care of our own personal health and manage the risk. The steps outlined above prevent our best line of defense in mitigating risk of exposure and illness.
